2013 Season High School Season

The YBL is proud to announce that it will be launching its third season for the YBL High School Division.  The YBL is the largest youth box lacrosse league in the country with over 1,200 participants.  In 2015, the YBL High School Division will be playing REAL BOX LACROSSE!  Playing this style of box lacrosse will offer high school-age players with an opportunity to fine-tune their lacrosse skills in a fun, competitive environment.

The YBL High School Division will run this August in two arenas around the Twin Cities, with all games taking place on the weekends. Teams will participate in a three week season schedule with the opportunity to attend clinics prior to the first games.

The YBL High School Division is unique in that it offers participants with an opportunity to receive hands-on training from Swarm players and coaches. League members will have the opportunity to attend clinics hosted by Swarm players and coaches prior to the start of the season. Players who register will also receive (4) ticket vouchers for the upcoming 2016 Minnesota Swarm season at Xcel Energy Center.

Features & Benefits for the YBL High School Division:

o    Two age Divisions: JV & VARSITY

o    Players will receive (1) custom long-sleeved box lacrosse jersey from Projoy (Same jerseys the pros wear!)

o    Games will feature 30-second shot clocks

o    Tie games after regulation will end in a SHOOTOUT

o    Teams will play (6) Regular Season Games in August

o    Players will receive (4) lower level ticket vouchers for the 2016 Swarm season!

o    Two clinics for each age division prior to the start of the season

o    Players will be fully insured to play REAL BOX LACROSSE through the Box Lacrosse Association of America (BLA) for $40 a year.

Important Dates

  • Team Registration: TBD
  • Individual Registration:  TBD.
  • Deadline for team submission and individual registration will be released at a later date. There will be a late registration period open following the determined due date. Teams and individuals who register late will be required to pay a late fee of $25 per player.


  • $200/player for teams with 16 or less kids.
  • $195/player for teams with 17-20 kids.
  • $205 for individual registrants.

Refund Policy

The MN Swarm will offer refunds accordingly:

  • Any withdrawal after the participant's registration will retain a 50% refund.
  • Any withdrawal received after the first game will not be accepted and no refund will be awarded.

Team Information

Team spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Teams are required to have a minimum of 12 players, but no more than 20 participants. Five runners and one goalie are allowed on the field during games.


There will be (2) separate divisions in the YBL High School Division in an effort to allow everyone play against equal competition:

Varsity: Teams with players of a high skill level will compete against one another.

Junior Varsity: Teams with players of a novice skill level will compete against one another.


Participants must currently be enrolled in high school or entering high school for the 2015-16 school year. Graduating classes that are eligible are 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. All participants must be registered members through the Box Lacrosse Association of America (BLA).  For more information about the BLA, please click HERE.

-Season will run three weeks in the month of August

-Games will take place on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday. with the possibility of Friday evenings)
